ITS ALL ABOUT YOU
Everything that God does is all about a relationship with you. You may read about the goodness of God and say: “Yeah, I believe He does that stuff but that’s just for other people. He doesn’t really mean me.” NO! That thinking could not be further from the truth! When John 3:16 says “for God so loved the world that He…” the word “world” does mean everyone, as in all of humanity, but it is not impersonal. What God does, He does for everyone individually!
You are on this earth because God wanted you, YOU, to be a son or daughter to Him. God is omnipresent, which means He is everywhere at once. It also means that He can give you His undivided attention every moment of every day as if you were the only person on planet earth. He has been with you from the very beginning. He formed you in your mother’s belly. God has, because He loves you, provided everything you have. EVERYTHING. Every beat of your heart is because He keeps it beating. The food you eat is what He has provided for you. He makes sure you have water to drink. The clothes you wear are from Him.
Let me take a moment to try and give you an example of God’s love for you….
So, there is a farmer who plants a field of cotton. God watches over those cotton seeds and causes them to sprout and grow. God blesses that farmer’s field because there are cotton plants in that field that are destined to be used in the making of a shirt you will wear. The field is harvested. The cotton is then made into fabric. The fabric is made into a shirt. The shirt is sold in a store. And let’s say a friend, whom God directs to that shirt, then buys that shirt for you and gives it to you for your birthday. God oversaw it all…FOR YOU!!!
God makes sure you have everything you need. You may not have everything you want but you will have everything you need. You may also have many things that you want and those are additional blessings!
Yes, there are times we can see where it might be nice to have something that we see someone else has and we wonder why we don’t have it. Well, there are a zillion reasons why you might not have it, but I will name three common reasons I see often.
Sometimes we don’t have the things we want because:
1) We are actually standing in the way of blessing because we are not in line with Gods will.
2) Our perspective is wrong.
3) We just aren’t thankful for what we do have and God won’t keep blessing us with more if we remain ungrateful.
Besides, life isn’t about stuff, it’s about a relationship with God. Focusing on getting stuff is about you blessing you. That’s not how a true and meaningful relationship works. And you will eventually find the limit of yourself but God is limitless!!
